AI Moderator Study

Hello,

We invite you to take part in a research study conducted by SRI International and University of Pittsburgh. Our teams consist of Dr. Karan Sikka, Dr. Ajay Divakaran from SRI International and Prof. Malihe Alikhani from University of Pittsburgh.

  The Great Facilitator (TGF) team is developing a next generation AI moderator for online social platforms to moderate user comments, mediate disputes, and teach civil behaviors. Our goal is to provide a healthier and effective communication environment in online social media platforms 

  We are inviting you to test our AI moderator by joining our private subreddit, engaging in discussions around different topics with other participants, and interacting with the bot whenever it starts a conversation with you (please see this Document for more details).

Your participation will help improving online communications in current environment. We will also provide you useful information on how to be a good mediator and effectively resolve conflicts. Toward the end of this study, we will send out $10 gift cards to participants who actively interact with our bots (at least 5-10 interactions) and complete the post-study survey as a thank you gift.

Participation in this study is voluntary and your privacy will be protected. The protocol of this study is approved by our IRB to safeguard human participants and we will anonymize all user data. 

If you decide to participate in this study, please fill out this Google Form. We will ask you to provide your Reddit username. Once you submit the form, we will add you to our private subreddit and send out a private DM with further instructions.
